Application Strategies
Since fusion is by nature an interdisciplinary subject, many students may be able to satisfy their educational goals by residing at any of several departments. Downloadable application forms for all affiliated departments are available on this page.
Financial Aid
There are a number of prestigious fellowships available for graduate and postgraduate research that are distributed on a national basis. Additionally there are department fellowships, and research and teaching assistantships to help fund your education.
PSFC Faculty & Senior Research Scientists
At MIT many faculty members and senior research scientists actively participate in plasma physics and fusion research. This provides a wide variety of research topics and thesis advisors from which students may choose.
Summer Programs at LLNL
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is pleased to announce two summer programs on high-energy-density physics (HEDP).
Plasma
Forum
Every (well, most!) Mondays during the semester, an MIT graduate
student gives a talk aimed at other graduate
students about a topic related
to plasma science. Although these talks are frequently on the student's
area of research, they do not have to be.
